A note on naming, because it trips people up in the listings. Britax sells this seat as both the One4Life and the One4Life ClickTight, and they’re the same seat at the same price. There is a genuinely separate One4Life Slim for narrower back seats, and a One4Life ClickTight with anti-rebound bar at a higher price. Earlier versions of this comparison treated the first two as competing options; they aren’t.
Design and Build Quality
Graco 4Ever Design
Traditional plastic frame, 23 pounds, one of the lighter all-in-one seats you’ll find. The Simply Safe Adjust harness lets you change harness height and headrest position together from the front without rethreading.
Machine-washable seat cover. Durable fabric, though not premium. Two cup holders. It’s a practical, no-frills design.
The 4Ever DLX Grad adds a fifth mode (youth booster) for older kids who still need positioning support but have outgrown the highback booster.

ClickTight is the headline feature. Thread the seat belt, close the panel, and you get proper tension every time. NHTSA’s field study put the misuse rate for car seats and boosters at 46%, so a system that takes most of the effort out of a tight install is a real safety advantage.

Graco says it’s side-impact tested but doesn’t specify the protocol, and uses EPS energy-absorbing foam.
Britax One4Life Safety
Britax goes beyond the minimums here. The full steel frame maintains its shape during impact. SafeCell Impact Protection includes crumple zones that absorb energy before it reaches your child.
Britax describes its side impact protection as three layers covering torso and head.
And ClickTight is itself a safety feature. A properly installed seat is significantly safer than an improperly installed one. ClickTight makes proper installation nearly automatic.

The Graco weighs 23 pounds. The Britax weighs 30. That 7-pound gap matters if you’re moving the seat between vehicles regularly.
